2026 Gala for Architecture Recognizes Dallas Visionaries

Marcel Quimby, FAIA and John F. Scovell will be honored at the Gala for Architecture on March 26

The Architecture and Design Foundation, in partnership with the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is honored to present The Gala for Architecture—a black-tie celebration of design excellence, community leadership, and the enduring impact of the built environment.

We are grateful to Dupree Scovell and Diane Scovell for serving as our Honorary Gala Chairs and lending their energy, leadership, and family legacy of civic stewardship to this exceptional event.

This year, we proudly recognize two extraordinary visionaries whose work has elevated Dallas and shaped its future:

Marcel Quimby, FAIA

2025 AIA Dallas Lifetime Achievement Award
A nationally respected preservation architect, Marcel Quimby has dedicated her career to safeguarding our city’s architectural heritage. Her work has restored some of Dallas’ most significant cultural landmarks, ensuring they remain vibrant anchors for generations to come. Her leadership has strengthened the architectural profession and inspired countless emerging designers.

John Field Scovell

2026 AD EX Community Cornerstone Award
A transformative leader in real estate, community development, and civic engagement, John Scovell has helped shape many of Dallas’ most iconic destinations. His vision has created places that foster connection, economic vitality, and a sense of belonging—leaving an indelible mark on the city’s landscape and spirit.

As we gather to honor these remarkable individuals, The Gala for Architecture will feature exceptional cuisine, bespoke cocktails, and engaging entertainment—all set against the backdrop of architectural innovation and design excellence.

Your support has meaningful impact.

Proceeds from The Gala directly fuel the Foundation’s mission to broaden access to architecture and design through K–12 education, community programs, and scholarships that support the next generation of architects and designers. These initiatives open doors for students across North Texas—especially those who may not otherwise have exposure to design—ensuring that creativity, curiosity, and opportunity flourish in every neighborhood.

By supporting The Gala, you help us:

• Expand hands-on design education that sparks imagination and builds confidence in young learners.
• Provide scholarships that empower diverse emerging professionals to enter the design fields.
• Deliver community-centered programs that bring architecture to life for thousands each year.
• Strengthen the public’s understanding of how design shapes health, equity, resilience, and quality of life.

We invite you to join us on Thursday, March 26, 2026, for an inspiring evening that celebrates the people and ideas shaping Dallas and North Texas. Together, we can elevate design, activate opportunity, and build a stronger, more vibrant future for our community.
