Congratulations to Christopher, Zhu, AIA!
Congratulations to Christopher Zhu, AIA, the 2023 recipient of the Emerging Professionals Path to Licensure Scholarship on becoming a licensed architect!

“I would like to thank the AD EX again for providing me with the opportunity to have a seat in the study group as well as purchase resources that I would not have otherwise even considered. Both were essential to the success I was able to find for the exams, with the study group having recommended specific materials and various test-taking strategies.”
– Christopher Zhu, AIA
Christopher Zhu currently works at Stantec in the Plano, Texas office.
Christopher, now a licensed architect, was never so sure about which career path he would take. During his time in high school, he took exploratory classes to explore future career choices. There, Christopher found an interest in architecture for the unique intersection between design and construction.
Christopher graduated from the University of Houston in 2022 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. There, he served as AIAS Store Manager and then AIAS President and helped start the school store found in the College of Architecture and Design.
Afterwards, Christopher found employment at Stantec. There, he found it crucial to learn as much as he could about the practice, but also dedicates some of his time after-hours to both local design challenges such as CANstruction and Bark + Build, and mentoring students through the ACE Mentorship Program, a high school program that he once took part in as a mentee.
Now that he has received his license, Christopher wants to continue to grow as a professional and become more proficient in his role as a Project Architect.
Congratulations again, Christopher! We wish you the best in your career as an architect, and we are so excited to see what the future holds for you!
