2024 LGBTQIA+ Leadership Fund Application

    $2,000 (For participation in the LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Leadership Institute
  • Purpose

    The LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation Leadership Institute develops leadership skills for LGBT and Ally professionals. The program provides a diverse cohort of participants with valuable leadership skills and knowledge, along with an historical view of the LGBT community and equality movement. Upon completion of the nine-part program, participants will have a well-rounded understanding of the community. Within the nine-month LGBT Leadership Institute program, they provide a safe and nurturing environment to develop skills and explore the critical issues facing the LGBT community. The program promotes networking, dialog, and the sharing of best practices among leaders from across the community. Upon completion, graduates are encouraged to apply their talent and skills for the benefit of the LGBT and overall community. The scholarship will include tuition for a selected applicant to the program for 2024/2025. The 2024-2025 Application period is expected to open in the Summer of 2024. The program will run from September 2024 through May of 2025.
  • Eligibility

    Applicant must: Be employed full-time by an architectural firm in the chapter territory of AIA Dallas, AIA Northeast Texas or AIA Fort Worth. Be on the path to architectural licensure or have recently become licensed. Have at least 5 years of experience in the architecture or design field. Be in good standing with the American Institute of Architects. Commit to participate in the AIA Dallas LGBTQIA+ Alliance Network.

  • Terms

    Fund must be used for the upcoming LGBT Leadership Institue cycle. If the candidate is not selected to the Leadership Institute program, the scholarship will not be awarded. After the conference/program, awardee will write a blog post and prepare a presentation for the LGBTQIA+ Alliance members, at a network event to showcase their experience from their conference within 60 days of the event. After the conference/program, awardee will submit a reimbursement form to the Foundation. $2,000 is available to be awarded annually. Recipients are encouraged to attend the AD EX Scholarship & Awards Reception on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Additional information including headshot and biographical information will be requested from each recipient.
