AD EXchange: 2020 McDermott Traveling Fellow Cassidy Jones, Assoc. AIA

After pandemic-related delays, we are excited to welcome 2020 McDermott Traveling Fellow Cassidy Jones, Assoc. AIA to report on her travels to Greece. Cassidy explored Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Thessaloniki, which allowed her to see the roots of antiquity and draw parallels to the modern day principles and ideas that originated from this region. The influence of Greece can be felt around the world, not just through their design, but through their culture, social and political structures, and emphasis on education and philosophy. Although Greece has affected the world, the trip allowed her to see the effects the world has had on Greece, where they have been inspired by eco-tourism, urban planning, and modernism found in other regions and adapted to their own culture.
