7:00-7:30 Gallery Show

Join the AD EX for an exhibition and gallery talk as students present work developed as part of a design studio partnership between buildingcommunityWORKSHOP and the University of Texas at Arlington College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA). The hypothesis for the studio work is that increasing density in existing single-family neighborhoods while maintaining contextually specific form offers an opportunity to expand affordable housing options without disrupting the existing fabric of place.

Over the summer and fall of 2021, students explored Dallas neighborhoods and developed proposals for medium density housing with the input of neighborhood residents. Iterative designs include infill multi-family housing, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), mixed use structures, and co-living housing models.

AD EXchanges are free monthly presentations, panels, and informal group conversations on architecture, design, our city, and the world.

This program is free to attend, through the Greg Brown Memorial Your City Series Fund. Self parking at the AD EX is included with registration. Details will be emailed in advance of program.
