Event Details

Charles Dilbeck (1907-1990) is one of Dallas’ most iconic architects. Combining signature elements of French Norman and Ranch styles through variations, symmetry, and asymmetry, he developed a personal architectural style that is instantly recognizable in his works in Dallas and other cities such as Tulsa. Organized by a trio of individuals quite familiar to our architectural scene—architect Philip Henderson, FAIA, architect and author Willis Winters, FAIA, and photographer Carolyn Brown—Evolving A Personal Style-The Architecture of Charles Dilbeck uses large-scale photography highlighting a variety of buildings throughout the region to illustrate the common themes running through these unique structures.

Celebrate this important legacy exhibition with the show organizers, photographers, and the donors who helped make it possible at a reception on Thursday, September 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at AD EX. After brief remarks at 6:45 p.m., exhibition curator Philip Henderson will lead attendees on a personal tour of the show.
