Event Details

The exhibition currently on display at AD EX is Transforming Cities, Transforming Lives: The Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme, an exhibition of 27 regeneration projects from nine countries that demonstrate how culture can have a positive impact well beyond conservation. Presented in collaboration with the Aga Khan Council for the Central United States, the exhibition includes more than two dozen projects throughout Africa and Asia, and one in Canada that demonstrate how culture can have a positive impact well beyond conservation. These projects promote good governance, growth of civil society, rise in incomes and economic opportunities, greater respect for human rights, and better stewardship of the environment—even in the poorest and most remote areas of the globe.

Join Samina Hooda, a trained architect and the Communications Coordinator for the Aga Khan Council for Central US, for an in-depth look at the exhibition and the Historic Cities Programme and the methods it uses to address the questions of social and environmental context, adaptive re-use, institutional sustainability, and training.

Bring your lunch and join the conversation. We’ll gather at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation will begin at noon.

Free and open to the public. Please RSVP to info@DallasADEX.org with LLS-Aga Khan in the subject line.
