Event Details

Architect Howard R. Meyer was educated at Columbia University where he graduated in 1928. He moved to Dallas in 1935, and, over the next five decades, his body of work was noted for its unique and elegant interpretation of Modernist tenets with Texas vernacular design. He remains one of  Dallas’ most iconic architects.

As his architectural practice was ending in the 1980’s, his archives was transferred to the University of Texas Alexander Architectural Archive. A short film, including interviews with Meyer, was produced during that time that showed highlights of the author’s life and work. A first version of the film was completed in 1993 and then updated with new content and outtakes in 2009.

Join us as we get a personal look at Meyer, the man and architect, at a screening of this thirty-minute film. We’ll gather with our brown bag lunches at 11:30 a.m., and the screening will begin at 12:00 noon. RSVP to info@DallasADEX.org; please include Howard Meyer in the subject line.
