Event Details

Chicago architect Louis Sullivan (1856-1924) has been called the “father of the skyscraper.”  He coined one of the most famous architectural quotes ever in “Form must ever follow function” and worked to create an architecture that was truly American in spirit and design. Join us for a wonderful documentary on this influential designer who built some of America’s most beautiful buildings. It traces his successes, his setbacks, and reminds us that he inspired another iconic American architect, his protégé Frank Lloyd Wright.

The film is a little over 90 minutes long, so we’ll begin the screening right at 11:30 a.m.  Bring your brown bag lunches for an examination of this fascinating man. RSVP to; Please include “Louis Sullivan” in the subject line.
