A part of the mission of AD EX is to inspire the next generation of architects and designers. Through the Architecture and Design Foundation, we award thousands of dollars in scholarships and research grants to students and architects at the beginning of their career. Our traveling fellowships help the recipients fulfill a particular research agenda that they fell will inform them in their career moving forward; a part of their award is making a public presentation of their projects and results.
“Quality of Light” records Katerina Gates’ Mary Kolb Berglund Traveling Fellowship to New York City to investigate architectural spaces and the quality of light. The presence of light most often elevates architectural experience and the “feel” of the space. Katerina will share a photographic journal of places she visited and discuss their light quality.
Bring your sack lunch and join the conversation. Think of examples of light in architecture that you have experienced to add to the discussion. We’ll gather at 11:30 a.m. and Katerina’s presentation will begin at noon.
Free and open to the public. Please RSVP to info@DallasADEX.org with LLS-Light in the subject line.
