Lost + Found Exhibition
October 26 - December 15, 2023
This Lost + Found exhibition is presented by Norman Alston Architects, and funded in part by a grant from the Texas Historical Foundation and Architecture and Design Foundation.
Lost + Found, the popular editorial department of AIA Dallas’ volunteer-produced Columns magazine, delves into the exploration of various spaces and places that have undergone preservation, repurposing, demolition, neglect, or have been forgotten over time. This upcoming exhibition seeks to share the rich and unique histories of these locations through the perspectives of diverse experts, incorporating archival materials that showcase their past. Additionally, contemporary photographers will capture the current conditions of these places.
Many of the projects previously featured in Lost + Found since it debuted in 2010 have noteworthy updates to share – some as success stories, while others recount tales of loss. The exhibition provides updates for those projects whose status has changed since their publication. We place special emphasis on those projects that remain at risk. To bring this exhibition to life, we will host a Gallery Talk featuring the authors of the featured articles. The exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, and presented in both English and Spanish.
