The Queer Identity in Architecture and Design

June 3 - June 28, 2024

The Queer Identity in Architecture and Design is presented by Gensler, and organized and produced by the AIA Dallas LGBTQIA+ Alliance Network.

The Queer Identity in Architecture and Design exhibit is an overview of some of history’s more notable queer designers, covering the late 18th century to the present. Architects and designers profiles include biographical information, career highlights, photos, and brief analysis on how their queer identity impacted their work and career.

In addition, significant parallel events in history are featured to better understand the world that these designers lived in and how that also informed their personal and professional life. At the end of the exhibit, there is an opportunity for public contributions of queer designers that were not covered in this exhibit.
