The IMPACT DALLAS GALA supports the continuation of architectural excellence and celebrates the impact of design in our community.
The Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Architecture and Design Foundation are thrilled to announce the IMPACT DALLAS GALA, a black tie event to be held on Thursday, November 4 at The National in downtown Dallas. Our goal in developing this event is to elevate awareness of the impact of architecture and design on the community. Design thinking has the power to improve daily life, address the needs of the community, and unlock the economic potential of the city.
The event will honor three award recipients: Larry Good, FAIA is receiving the AIA Dallas Lifetime Achievement Award, Deedie Rose, Hon. AIA is receiving the George Foster Harrell Award, and the AD EX Community Cornerstone Award winner will be announced at the Gala.
The AD EX Community Cornerstone Award will be awarded for the first time to a non-architectural entity in recognition of outstanding contributions that enhance the quality of life by shaping environments and building community. The three finalists for the AD EX Community Cornerstone Aware are CitySquare, Jubilee Park Community Center, and Dallas ISD.

In addition to honoring our impressive award recipients, guests will be treated to a glamorous evening of celebration and inspiration replete with unexpected artful experiences that will stimulate lively discussion. This gala will be a special experience for those who love and appreciate the value of art and architecture.
We invite you to join us for an evening of entertainment. This year’s Gala includes live music by Limelight, immersive art vignettes, a silent auction, and more; all with a nod to the 1960’s style of the newly renovated Thompson Hotel at The National.
Our goal is to raise $175,000 in support of design excellence, community impact, and the future generations of Dallas architects.
30% will be essential funding for the public programs the Foundation currently provides to educate the public about the relevance of architecture and design and its impact on our communities. These programs aim to:
- Educate the individuals of all ages about the history, impact, and importance of architecture in Dallas.
- Support students and young leaders interested in pursuing an education and career in architecture.
- Provide a platform for local architects and designers to share their professional expertise and explore their interests.
70% will go toward the Design Awareness Endowment Fund, allowing the Architecture and Design Foundation to provide grants to community-based projects. This year the Gala supports the nonprofit partner of this year’s Emerging Leaders Program, Camp Summit. The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) identifies, cultivates, and mentors young leaders in three areas of leadership: the firm, the profession, and the community. For 12 years, each class of ELP graduates has provided pro-bono design services across the Dallas/Fort Worth area and creating design solutions for issues facing communities who are most in need in our city.
The IMPACT DALLAS GALA is co-hosted by the Architecture and Design Foundation and AIA Dallas. For additional information, please contact Elizabeth Jones at ejones@aiadallas.org.
