Making An Impact in Dallas
The Architecture and Design Foundation creates a meaningful connection between the American Institute of Architects, Dallas Chapter (AIA Dallas) and the general public, through its mission to foster access to architecture and design for all.
Originally founded as the AIA Dallas Foundation (1984 – 2008), then the Dallas Center for Architecture Foundation (2008 – 2018), the role of the Architecture and Design Foundation has expanded and evolved over the last four decades to meet the needs of the Dallas community.
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, the Foundation supports its mission through raising funds for scholarships and fellowships for North Texas high school students, college students, and young professionals, and by funding the programs, exhibitions, and operations of its current home, the Architecture and Design Exchange (a.k.a. AD EX, pronounced “ad” as in advertising and “ex” as in exit), located at Republic Center in downtown Dallas.
The Architecture and Design Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024.
Since 2021, when we completed our 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, the AD EX has supported design awareness, architectural education, and community partnerships in North Texas.
